What the job involves

A deck lives outside in the worst of the weather, so the framing matters as much as the boards. We use treated framing at the right spans, galvanised or stainless fixings, proper falls away from the house and flashings where the deck meets the building.

Heritage bullnose verandah rebuilds are a specialty. We add extra rafters and a row of noggins through the middle for additional roof screws, and keep the detailing as close to the original as possible.

Included in this service

  • Hardwood and composite decking
  • Verandahs and bullnose rebuilds
  • Balustrades and handrails
  • Steps, landings and privacy screens
  • Deck repairs and reboarding

Common questions

Merbau or composite?
Merbau and spotted gum look the part and are cost effective, but need oiling. Composite costs more up front and stays low maintenance. We will price both if you want to compare.
Does a deck need a permit?
Low decks under 800mm are often exempt, but it depends on height and boundary setbacks. We will let you know when we quote.
